let the angle = x degrees.
Its supplement = (180 - x) degrees.

Now, the angle - its supplement = 44.

So, x - (180 - x) = 44
or 2x = 44 + 180 = 224
or x = 224/2 = 112

So, the reqd. angle is 112 degrees.
