You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A father says to his Son,"I am 8 times as old as you are when I was as old as you are.
let d = (f-s), the difference in their ages
f-d = 8(s-d)
f - d = 8s - 8d
f = 8s - 8d + d
f = 8s - 7d
replace d with (f-s)
f = 8s - 7(f-s)
f = 8s - 7f + 7s
f + 7f = 15s
8f = 15s
:
If sum of their ages is 75,
f + s = 75
f = (75-s)
Replace f with 75 -s in the first equation
8(75-s) = 15s
600 - 8s = 15s
600 = 15s + 8s
600 = 23s
There's something wrong with this problem, solutions are not integers.
