If there are a total of 20 students, how many boys are there?
:
let x = the multiplier
then
3x = no. of girls
2x = no. of boys
:
Total of 20 students
3x + 2x = 20
5x = 20
x = 4 is the multiplier
therefore
2*4 = 8 boys
