You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If 5/7 are boys, 2/7 are girls so (2/7)(100%)=28.57% are girls.
So 300 is 28.57% of: 300/0.2857=1050
There are a total of 1050 students
And 5/7 are boys: 5/7(1050)=750 ANSWER: There are 750 boys in the school.

In a school, 5/7 of the students are boy. If there are 300 girls, find the number of boys in the school.
As 5%2F7 of students are boys, then 2%2F7 of students are girls.
Let number of boys be B
Then we get: %285%2F7%29%2F%282%2F7%29+=+B%2F300
%285%2F7%29+%2A+300+=+%282%2F7%29+%2A+B ------- Cross-multiplying
1500%2F7+=+2B%2F7
1500 = 2B ------- Denominators are equal and so are the numerators
B, or number of boys = 1500%2F2, or highlight_green%28750%29
