You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If Louis can rake leaves off a lawn in 58 minutes, and Ron can do the same job in 35 minutes, how long would it take them to do the job if they work together?
--------
Louis rate:: 1/58 job/minute
---
Ron rate:: 1/35 job/minute
---
together rate: 1/x job/min
-----
Equation:
rate + rate = together rate
1/58 + 1/35 = 1/x
35x + 58x = 35*58
93x = 35*58
x = 21.83 min = 21 min 49.8 seconds (time to do the job together)
------------------------------
