You can put this solution on YOUR website! log3 (x+6) −log3 (x−2) = 2
Use the quotient logarithm rule and we get
log3 ( (x+6) / (x-2) ) = 2
Now use the definition of logarithm and we get
(x+6) / (x-2) = 3^2
x+6 = 9x - 18
8x = 24
x = 3
