if the triangles are similar, then the lengths of the corresponding sides are proportional.

this means they all have the same ratio.

the ratio of the longest side of the larger triangle to the smaller triangle is 51/17 = 3.

the length of the shortest side of the larger triangle is 8 * 3 = 24.
