Question 959287: How many ways are there to select three math help websites from a list that contains six different websites
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Slot A: 6 choices
Slot B: 5 choices
Slot C: 4 choices
Multiply out the number of choices: 6*5*4 = 30*4 = 120
There are 120 ways to pick 3 websites where order matters.
Since order doesn't matter, we divide by 3! = 3*2*1 = 6 to get 120/6 = 20
So there are 20 different combinations where the order doesn't matter.
Final Answer: 20
