You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If a die is tossed and a coin is flipped, what is the probability of getting a 1 or 2 on the die or heads on the coin?
----------------
P(1 or 2 on the die) = 2/6 = 1/3
---
P(head) = 1/2
------
These are unrelated events.
P(this OR that) = P(this) OR P(that)
------
However, these events are independent, so
P(this AND that) = P(this)*P(that)
So, P(1 or 2 on die AND head) = (1/3)(1/2) = 1/6
-----
