1/x+5 + 3/x+4 = -1/x^2+9x+20
Multiply (x+5)(x+4) times both sides. (x+4)+3(x+5)=-(x+5)(x+4)/x^2+9x+20
factor: (x+4)+3(x+5)=(x+5)(x+4)/(x+5)(x+4)
x+4+3x+15=-1
4x+19=-1
subtract 19 from both sides. 4x=-20
divide 4 into both sides. x=-5
Check:
1/x+5=1/-5+5=1/0 therefore the answer is undefined since division by zero is not allowed.
