b^a / b^c = b^(a-c)

6^5 / 6^4 = 6^(5-4) = 6.

you are correct.

6^5 / 6^4 can also be shown as 6*6*6*6*6 / 6*6*6*6

this is equivalent to (6/6) * (6/6) * (6/6) * (6/6) * 6 which is equal to 6, and 6 is the same as 6^1.
