Question 956724: Please help me with this math problem solving: Thank you, really apprecite it.
Dave and Sandy Hartnarft are frequent flyers wit Delta Airlines. They often fly from Philadelphia to Chicago, a distance of 780 miles. On one particular trip, they fly into the wind, and th flight takes 1 and 1/2 hours. If the wind speed is the same on each trip, find the speed of thewind and dinf the speed of the plane in still air.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

---------------------
With that info you can find the groundspeed.
780 mi/1.5 hr = 520 mi/hr
--------
The windspeed is added to or subtracted from the plane's airspeed to get the groundspeed.
Upwind: GS = AS - W
Downwind: GS = AS + W
---
This is assuming a direct headwind or tailwind.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You're missing some information.
The unknowns would be
+w+ windspeed
+s+ speed of plane in still air
-----------------------------
There is only 1 equation possible here,
but you have 2 unknowns.
