you are selecting groups of 3 from a group of 8 and a group of 10 ... order is not important

3 from 8 is (8*7*6)/(3*2*1) ... 56

3 from 10 is (10*9*8)/(3*2*1) ... 120

any of the groups of men can be combined with any of the groups of women
so the total number of committees is 56*120 or 6720
