A rectangular Solar panel measures 20ft. by 30 ft. If you add the same amount to each dimension, the area is doubled. what is the amount added to each dimension? Please show your work if possible.
=============
Area = 20*30 = 600 sq ft
(20 + x)*(30 + x) = 1200
x%5E2+%2B+50x+-+600+=+0
(x - 10)*(x + 60) = 0
x = -60 (Ignore)
x = 10 ft

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(20+X)(30+X)=2(20*30)
600+50X+X^2=2*600
600+50+X^2=1200
X^2+50X+600-1200=0
X^2+50X-600=0
(X+60)(X-10)=0
X+60=0
X=-60 NO ANS.
X-10=0
X=10 FT.ANS.
PROOF:
(20+10)(30+10)=2(20*30)
30*40=2*600
1200=1200
