ticket sale for a play total $2200. there are three times as many adults tickets sold as childrens tickets. the price of the tickets for adults and children are $6 and $4, respectively. find the number of children tickets sold.

I'll do the 1st one of your two problems. Follow this pattern and you will
be able to do the 2nd problem.

Let # of child tickets be "x" ; value of these is 4x dollars
# of adult tickets is "3x" ; value of thes is 6*3x = 18x dollars

EQUATIOn:
value + value = 2200 dollars
4x+18x= 2200
22x = 2200
x= 100 (number of child tickets sold)
3x = 300 (number of adult tickets sold)
