You can put this solution on YOUR website!
John can mow a field in 6 hours while it takes Lana 3 hours to mow the same field. How long will it take them to mow the field if they work together?
-----------------
John rate:: 1/6 job/hr
Lana rate:: 1/3 job/hr
Together rate:: 1/x job/hr
---------------
Equation:
Rate + Rate = Together Rate
1/6 + 1/3 = 1/x
-----
Moltiply thru by 6x to get:
x + 2x = 6
3x = 6
x = 2 hrs (time to do the job together)
