She has found two trucking companies that are willing to make sure her food arrives intact. Peterīs Pick Up charges $0.40 per mile and charges a flat fee of $68. Helenīs Haulers charges $0.65 per mile and charges a flat fee of %23. Which one should she pick?

P=$68+$0.40m
H=$23+$0.65m
Mileage when both are the same:P=H
$68+$0.40m=$23+$0.65m Subtract ($23+$0.40m) from each side.
$45=$0.25m Divide each side by $0.25.
180=m ANSWER If the distance is less than 180 miles, Helen's is a better deal. Above 180 miles, Peter's is the better deal.
