Question 953666: In a barnyard, 12% of the chickens are roosters, and 41% of the hens are black. If one chicken is chosen at random, what is the probability that it is a black hen? PLEASE HELP Answer by macston(5194) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Say we have 100 chickens if 12% (12)are roosters, that leaves 88 hens. If 41% of the hens are black, then (0.41)(88)=36.08 of all our chickens are black hens. Since we have 100 chickens, there is 36 out of 100 chance that a random pick will be a black hen, or (36/100)(100%) a 36% chance.
