Question 952938: complete the table for each function.
g(x)=-1/4sqrtx
x=0,1,4,9
--------
y-
not trying to type more than 1 question here, but the next one reads h(x)=sqrtx-2
The table is the same...I am really confused as to why change the g to an h? Do i have to change how to solve or what? confused.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! complete the table for each function.
g(x)=-1/4sqrtx
x=0,1,4,9
--------
When x = 0, y = (-1/4)sqrt(0) = (-1/4)*0 = 0
When x = 1, y = (-1/4)sqrt(1) = (-1/4)*1 = -1/4
When x = 4, y = (-1/4)sqrt(4) = (-1/4)*2 = -1/2
When x = 9, y = (-1/4)*3 = -3/4
-----------------------------------------
The next one reads h(x)=sqrtx-2
The table is the same...I am really confused as to why change the g to an h? Do i have to change how to solve or what? confused.
They used h(x) instead of g(x) so you would know it was
a different function. It could have been k(x) or p(x) etc.
When x = 0, y = sqrt(0)-2 = 0-2 = -2
When x = 1, y = 1-2 = -1
When x = 4, y = 2-2 = 0
When x = 9, y = 3-2 = 1
-----------------------------
Cheers,
Stan H.
