c+s=33 Substitute for s
c+(c+5)=33 Subtract 5 from each side.
2c=28 Divide each side by 2.
c=14 ANSWER 1: Clark made 14 sales calls.
s=c+5=14+5=19 ANSWER 2: Shelly made 19 sales calls.
