Question 95204: Five divided by the difference of a number and 12 equals the quotient of 10 and the sum of the number and 5. Find the number.
A)-19 B)29/3 C)29 D)17/5 Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
multiply (x+5) and (x-12) times both sides. 10(x-12)=5(x+5)
10x-120=5x+25 subtract 5x from both sides. 5x-120=25
add 120 to both sides. 5x=145
divide 5 into both sides. x=29
