if a rectangles perimeter is P=65ft, then we have
65ft=2%28L%2BW%29
if the length L is twice as long as the width W, then we have

L=2W ...substitute the length in equation above
65ft=2%282W%2BW%29.....solve for W
65ft%2F2=3W
32.5ft=3W
32.5ft%2F3=W
W=10.83333333333333ft
W=10.83ft-the width
the length is:
L=2W
