Question 950753: My question says to find the center, the lengths of the major and minor axes, and the foci. The equation is 4(x-3)^2+9(y+1)^2=36. My issue is that I'm not sure what conic section it is,or how to find those things from where the equation is now. Answer by josgarithmetic(39620) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Visual inspection and comparison to the standard forms for conic sections indicates an ellipse. Divide both sides by 36 to find the other information. Adjust into standard form.
