For this, we can say that x is equal to the width. Since the length is twice it's width, we can say that 2x is equal to the length. We know that the formula to get the area is length%2Awidth, so that means that x%2A2x=18 in other words 2x%5E2=18. Let's divide both sides by 2 x%5E2=9. let's find the square root of both sides sqrt%28x%5E2%29=sqrt%289%29. So x=3. Since the width is 3 that means the length is 6 because the length is twice the width.

The length is 6 inches and the width is 3 inches.
