So the Total Output they are consuming is,

So they have 24R amount of food.
Now if instead of using at rate R, they reduce it by 20%, then the new R,

You still have the same amount of food, find the new time.

0.8R%2At%5Bn%5D=24R

They could hold out for 30 days by reducing rations 20%.
