Complementary angles add up to 90°.
if one angle is alpha and other angle is beta,we have
alpha%2Bbeta=90
and if the measure of angle alpha is 80% of the angle beta, then we have
alpha=0.80beta...substitute in alpha%2Bbeta=90
0.80beta%2Bbeta=90
1.80beta=90
beta=90%2F1.80
beta=900%2F18
highlight%28beta=50%29
now find alpha

alpha=0.80beta
alpha=0.80%2A50
highlight%28alpha=40%29

Two angles are complementary. The measure of one angle is 80% of the other. Find the measures of both angles.
----
The sum is 90 degs
Angle + 0.8*Angle = 90
What's the big deal?
