Cos ^2 theta =1/4
cos%5E2%28t%29+=+1%2F4
cos = 1/2
--> theta = 60, 300 degs
----------------
cos = -1/2
--> theta = 120, 240 degs

I don't see a need for the half-angle formula.
You can convert to radians.
