8-x>-10 Subtract 8 from each side
-x>-18 Multiply each side by -1 ((reverse inequality)
x<18
--AND--
8-x<9 subtract 8 from each side
-x<1 Multiply by -1(reverse inequality)
x>-1
ANSWER: ALL numbers such that -1%3Cx%3C18.
