You can put this solution on YOUR website! let x be the number of Snack A let (6-x) be the number of Snack B (since we know teacher bought 6 snacks, x of them are Snack A, then the numbers left 6-x must be for snack B)

 4.75x + 6.25(6-x) = 34.50
 4.75x + 37.5 - 6.25x = 34.50
 -1.5x = -3
 1.5x = 3
 x = 2
 Snack A = x = 2
 Snack B = 6-x = 6-2 = 4
 Therefore the teacher bought 2 snack A and 4 snack B
