A square has sides of length 3x -2 cm. Express the area of the square as a polynomial.

The side of the square here = 3x-2cm
Area of the square = side *side
Area of the square = (3x-2)(3x-2)cm^2
= (3x-2)^2cm^2
This is of the form (a-b)^2 = a^2-2ab +b^2
Area of the square = 9x^2 - 12x +4square cm
