You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the points (-2,3), (x,y) and (-3,5) lie on a straight line, then the equation of the line is?
Use the slope formula: m = %28y2-y1%29%2F%28x2-x1%29
Assign as follows
x1=-2; y1=3
x2=-3; y2=5
m = %285-3%29%2F%28-3-%28-2%29%29 = 2%2F%28-1%29 = -2 is the slope
The slope intercept form y = mx+b
where y = 3, x=-2, m = -2 find b
3 = -2(-2) + b
3 = 4 + b
3 - 4 = b
-1 = b
the equation
y = -2x - 1
