You can put this solution on YOUR website! In a room, all except
18 of the people are over 50 years of
age. 15 of the people in the room are
under 50 years of age, if 10% of the
people are at the age of 50 years,
how many people are in the room?
-----
# over 50 = x -18
# under 50 = 15
# at 50 = 0.10x
-----
Equation:
x -18 + 15 + 0.10x = x
1.1x - 3 = x
0.1x = 3
x = 30 (# of people in the room)
----
Note:: the answer should be a whole number.
