You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the width of a rectangle is three fourths of the length. the perimeter of the rectangle becomes 50cm when the length and width are increased by 2 cm. Find the length and width? Please show how to perform the operations that solve the translated equation.
---------
Original dimensions::
length = x
width = (3/4)x
------
New dimensions:
Length = x+2
Width = (3/4)x+2
------
Equations::
P = 2(length + width)
50 = 2(x+2 + (3/4)x+2)
25 = (7/4)x + 4
(7/4)x = 21
x = 12 (original length)
3/4 x = 9 (original width)
