Question 93860: Good Evening Tutors,
I was wondering if you could show me how to graph this inequality.
y >= 3x
I got 1 > 3 (false) so I shaded below the line not including the 1 but I am not sure I have this correct. Any help would be greatly accepted.
Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! graph this inequality.
y >= 3x
----------------
It sounds like you have graphed the line y = 3x.
That is part of the solution and it is the boundary
of the inequality.
----------------------
To determine where the graph of the inequality is you
should select a test point that is not on the line,
like (1,1)
---------------
Test the x and y values of the test point in the inequality as follows:
1 > 3*1
That is false.
So shade the half-plane that does NOT contain (1,1).
---------------
Comment: That half-plane should be above the line y=3x.

Cheers,
Stan H.
