You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:2/3(x-6)=8
Prove: x= 18
2/3(x-6)=8
given
multiply each side by 3
3(2/3(x-6)) = 3*8
2(x-6) = 24
rules of algebra( multiplying each side of equation by the same number keeps equality )
divide each side by 2
(x-6) = 12
rules of algebra ( dividing each side of equation by the same number keeps equality )
add -6 to each side
x = 6
rules of algebra ( adding each side of equation by the same number keeps equality )
