Question 938282: I would really appreciate your help with a question on Science...
If Jenna went the total distance in 5 hours, what was her average speed? (the distance is 4,500 meters) I am usually really good at math but I am kind of stumped. I tried converting it into miles but that didn't turn out very well. I was told that 1609.34 meters equals a mile, but I can't recall the last time I did one of these problems... :(

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Why bring in miles? Just use meters per hour.
4500 meters, done in 5 hours, compute the speed in meters per hour.
If you really want with miles, then use the known unit conversions.
1 meter = 100 centimeters
1 inch = 2.54 centimeters
12 inches = 1 foot
5280 feet = 1 mile
You were told, 1609.34 meters = 1 mile.
If this true, then your unit conversion is already known.
