You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If an observer is 200ft from a building and the angle of elevation to the top of a building is 60 degrees, what is the height of the building?
---------------
Draw the picture.
If the angle of inclination is 60 degrees and the building forms a right
triangle with the ground, the 3rd angle of the triangle formed is 30 degrees.
---------------
The side opposite the 30 degree angle is (1/2) the hypotenuse.
That side opposite is 200 ft so the hypotenuse is 400 ft.
----------------------
Use Pythagoras to find the 3rd side of the right triangle which is the building.
400^2 = 200^2 + x^2
x^2 = 160000 - 40000 = 120000
x = 346.41 ft
