You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The band will cost $400 and advertising costs will be $100.
Fixed cost = $500
Food will be supplied at $2 per person.
let the number of people to attend be x
Total cost = 500+2x

a. How many people need to attend the dance in order for the organization to break even if tickets are sold at $7 each?
Receipts = 7x
500+2x=7x
5x= 500
x= 100 people

b. How many people need to attend the dance in order for the organization to break even if tickets are sold at $6 each?
500+2x=6x
500=4x
x=125 people
c. How many people need to attend the dance if the organization wants to earn $400 profit and sells tickets for $6 each?
6x-(500+2x)= 400
6x-500-2x=400
4x=900
x=225 people
