You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) 1/4x+2/3y=5/7
subtract 1/4x from both sides of =
2/3y = -1/4x +5/7
multiply both sides of = by 3/2
y = -3/8x +15/14
2) 1/8x-1/2y=2/7
subtract 1/8x from both sides of =
-1/2y = -1/8x +2/7
multiply both sides of = by -2
y = 1/4x -14/7
y = 1/4x -2
the graph of equations 1 and 2 is below, 1 is red and 2 is green

x=4.9 and y=-0.77
x+y = 4.9 -0.77 = 4.13
