Question 937669: Hi,
I would like some help on this question please:
Events L and M are mutually exclusive and exhaustive. The event N has some influence on whether L or M will occur.
P(N) = 0.1
P(M | N) = 0.3
P(M | (complement N, can't do the bar on top) = 0.6
Use the rules of conditional probability to find P(L).

You can put this solution on YOUR website! P(M)= P(M/N)P(N)+P(M/not(N))P(not N)
= 0.3(0.1)+0.6(0.9) = 0.03+0.54 = 0.57
P(L) = 1-P(M) = 1-0.57 = 0.43
Answer: P(L)=0.43
