You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The answer is -4
---
The way to do this question is to simply remember the acronym BIDMAS. As long as you remember the acronym you can answer these types of questions quite easily.
Just in case you don't know what it means, it means:
Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction. This is called the order of operation, which basically means which you always do your operations in this order. For example, since M is before S; that means you have to multiply before you subtract.
---
I will not do the whole thing but I will start it.
----
To start, you look at the first bracket because of BIDMAS. Then you do 4*2 because of M, then that means the bracket is (9-8) which equals 1. Then you multiply that 1 by 3 because of the letter M. So now you have 3, then add 7 to that 3 to get 10.
---
Therefore the value of the first bracket is the 10.
---
You can do the next bracket, just remember that the answer is -4.
