Question 934507: "Write the equation that describes each line in slope-intercept form."
I am given:
slope = -2, (5,4) is on the line
Do I make a graph from this? How can I determine the y-intercept to put into y = mx + b?
Thanks.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! "Write the equation that describes each line in slope-intercept form."
I am given:
slope = -2, (5,4) is on the line
Do I make a graph from this? How can I determine the y-intercept to put into y = mx + b?
-----------------------
Start with:
y-y1 = m*(x-x1) where (x1,y1) is the point
y-4 = -2*(x-5)
Solve for y.
------
Pick 2 values for x, find y.
Plot the points, draw a line thru them.
