t=d/r against current -
8.00 / ( x - y )= 4.00
4.00 ( x - y ) = 4.00
4.00 x - 4.00 y = 8.00 ....................1

40.00 / ( x + y )= 4.00
4.00 ( x + y ) = 40.00
4.00 x + 4.00 y = 40.00 ...............2
Multiply (1) by 4.00
Multiply (2) by 4.00
we get
16.00 x + -16.00 y = 32.00
16.00 x + 16.00 y = 160.00
32.00 x = 192.00
/ 32.00
x = 6.00 km/h

plug value of x in (1) y
4.00 x -4.00 y = 8.00
