Question 933180: A school organization is selling candy (c) and popcorn (p) as a fundraiser. They have to stay within their budget of $500. They can order up to 300 items. They must buy at least as many candies as they buy popcorn. Each candy costs $12.00 and each bag of popcorn costs $3.
Could you please show me all the steps and solve it and show me how to write out "at least as many candies as they buy popcorn". Thank you for your time Answer by josgarithmetic(39620) (Show Source):
This seems like a linear optimization problem, but I am unsure about the Objective Function. Even so, these are three inequalities in only TWO variables, c and p, and the system can be graphed. You might want to use the money relationship as the Objective Function, but the graphing would be the most clear way to find a solution region. You decide which variable to be for which number line axis (of the two, for a two dimensioned Cartesian graph).
