let x=per cent of alcohol in the finat mixture
amount of pure alcohol in the 20 gal=(0.7)(20)=14 gal
amount of pure alcohol in the 30 gal=(0.5)(30)=15 gal
Sooooo there's 29 gal. of pure alcohol in the 50 gal mixture
Our equation to solve then is: 50x=29
x=0.58 or 58%
