THAT IS WE HAVE TO FIND X WHEN Y=0
X^2-2X+4=0
DISCRIMINANT = (-2)^2-4*1*4=4-16=-12<0
HENCE X IS IMAGINARY.
HENCE THERE ARE NO REAL X INTERCEPTS

setting y=0 & solving for x values gives you the x intercepts:
x^2-2x+4=0
