A deep sea diving bell is being lowered at a constant rate. After 12 minutes, the bell is at a depth of 400 feet. After 40 mins the bell is at a depth of 1800 feet.
What is the average rate of lowering per minute? round
If i could get a little reminder how to set this problem up i would be so grateful! Thank you for your time Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Use rate * time = distance, then
total time is 12 + 40 = 52 minutes
average rate * 52 = 1800
average rate = 1800 / 52 = 34.615384615 approx 35 feet per minute
