You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = The width
x+6 = The length
Formula for area of a rectangle
Area = Length x Width
It's area is 91 cm^2.
(x+6)(x)=91
x^2+6x=91
x^2+6x-91=0
(x+13)(x-7)=0
x=-13 or
x= 7
Substitute x for -13
(-13+6)(-13)=91
(-7)(-13)=91
91=91
Substitute x for 7
(7+6)(7) =91
(13)(7) =91
91 =91
The width can either be -13cm or 7cm. Since the are no negative integers on finding the length, the width should be 7cm.
