The equation would be: 7x + 7(x-20) = 700
:
Confirm this by solving for x
7x + 7x - 140 = 700
14x = 840
x = 60 meters per minute is Steve's rate
then 40 meters/min is Dave's rate
Find the distance each traveled
7*60 = 420 m
7*40 = 280 m
