You can put this solution on YOUR website! A bicyclist rode into the country for 5h. In returning, her speed was 5 mi/h faster and the trip took 4h. What was her speed each way?
-----------
Into the country DATA;
Time = 5 hrs. ; speed = x mph ; distance = 5x miles
---------------
Return trip DATA:
Time = 4 hrs. ; speed = x+5 mph ; distance = 4(x+5)= 4x+20 miles
-----------------
EQUATION:
distance = distance
5x = 4x+20
x=20 mph (her speed into the country)
x+5=25 mph (her return speed)
----------------
